INTRODUCTION
Joseph
Wei is often recognized as a visionary strategist credited
with three successful startup product divisions that
grew to hundred-million dollars in sales. He brings
over twenty years of experience in Sales, Marketing,
and Engineering with a strong technical background in
server and storage appliances for the internet data-centers.
Previously, he served as the Director of NT/Linux Server
and Cluster for Silicon Graphics (SGI), that was a startup
group which he grew from zero to over $22M in sales
during its first year. Prior to SGI, he served as the
Director of Product Management, and led NEC Computers
to number-five market share position for pc-servers
in four years. He also held various marketing executive
positions with Digital Equipment Corporation, Modicon
Inc, and Accustest Inc.
Mr.
Wei has a strong passion for education, and, has directed
the donation of a high performance SGI web server to
the
George Lucas Educational Foundation (GLEF) to handle its increasing demand of web access. Mr. Wei also
worked with JDL Technologies to create the NEC
K-12WORLD Server Grant program that provided ten complete
hardware and software solutions with satellite connection
designed to help kindergarten through high school students
(K-12) to receive fast and affordable access to educational
resources on the Internet.

appliances and clusters resulted in $22 million in sales
in its first year, with an average of 40% quarterly
growth for six consecutive quarters.
Director
of Product Management: NEC Computer Systems
Defined
server strategy that propelled NEC to number-five market
share leader for Intel servers. Improved overall product
margin by over 30% by streamlining supply chain and
product design. Managed product line that included assessment
of potential markets, product life cycle, supply chain,
pricing strategy, marketing programs, advertisement,
