InfoTelesys is the only organization
that is building systems capable of delivering
the Exabit data flow rates necessary to support
global on-demand
DVD quality media.
InfoTelesys' massively scalar architecture
of IT-I2™ has no limits on scalability.
InfoTelesys systems can scale well into Exabit
data flow rate range (there are 18 zeros in an
Exabite 1,000,000,000,000,000,000 or one million,
million times a Megabit, or one million times
a Terabit).
Typical current generation DVD Quality
media takes 6 Mbps to 12 Mbps per session, HDTV
Quality consumes 24 Mbps. Future advanced
media will incorporate multiple planes of content
and interactive content; the bandwidth requirements
for advanced media will go up not down.
At 6 Mbps, with only one person
in each of the 52 million families in the U.S.
viewing next generation DVD Quality content, the
U.S. alone needs to support throughput of 312,000,000
Mbps (312 Terabits). That is, if everyone
in the American family can agree on watching the
same content. For HDTV 1,248 Petabits or
1.25 Exabits of throughput is required.
And that is just the U.S. what about the rest
of the world.
