"In 2006, over 7.2 million people were on probation, in jail or prison, or on parole at yearend 2006 -- 3.2% of all U.S. adult residents or 1 in every 31 adults." - U.S. Department of Justice
Source: http://www.ojp.usdoj.gov/bjs/correct.htm NOTE: It's far worse now in 2007.
The numbers are just as bad when considered as a Percent of Population - see below in in a Pie Chart:
Ignoring State Jails and Probation and only taking Federal Prisoners the U.S. has 1,587,403 more federal prisoners than in China; 1,307,001 more than in Russia; 1,799,543 more than in Brazil and 1,813,544 more than in India, yet these countries has significantly larger populations. Why?
Incarceration Rate Booming:
"State and federal prison authorities had jurisdiction over 1,595,034 inmates at midyear 2007: 1,395,916 in state jurisdiction and 199,118 in federal jurisdiction. Local jails held 766,010 persons awaiting trial or serving a sentence at yearend 2006. An additional 60,222 persons under jail supervision were serving their sentence in the community. Population growth during the 6-month period ending June 30, 2007 was lower in state prisons (up 1.4%) than in federal prison (up 3.1%). Population growth during the 12-month period ending June 29, 2007 was higher in local jails (up 1.9%)." - http://www.ojp.usdoj.gov/bjs/correct.htm Source: U.S. Department of Justice, Correctional Populations in the United States, 1997 and Prisoners in 2004. Ignoring prisoners held on probation. At midyear 2004, the U.S prisons and jails incarcerated over 2.1 million persons. In both jails and prisons, there were 123 female inmates per 100,000 women in the United States, compared to 1,348 male inmates per 100,000 men. A total of 2,477 State prisoners were under age 18. The number of inmates in custody in local jails rose by 22,689; in State prison by 15,375; and in Federal prison by 10,095. 04/05 NCJ 208801 - http://www.ojp.usdoj.gov/bjs/abstract/pjim04.htm
According recent reports issued by the U.S. Department of Justice, more than 1,000 inmates were added to the nation's prisons and jails each week from June 2004 to June 2005, .
The irrefutable fact that our Land of Liberty has been turned into the worlds leading Prison State is shown by the U.S. Department of Justice statistics. The frightening aspect is that our out of control government is not stopping here, they are literally building more prisons not only in the U.S. but internationally. The U.S. is even well surpassing Hitler and Stalin's horrors. Not surprisingly, citizens of Russia and Germany during these dictators reigns believed their government was the best in the world...
|How bad will it get?
It is Already Out Of Control,
What's Planned, What Has Already Been Built ... WAKE UP U.S.!
|When the founding fathers of the U.S. broke away from the
established government, they set about an attempt to build a system that would
work against the inevitable governmental corruption. Many if not most of the
“checks and balances” set in place by the founders of the U.S. Constitution have
been eroded or completely set aside.
A classic example of the extreme and outrageous nature of the U.S. government is embodied within the ‘Patriot Act’. Legislators have attempted, albeit treasonously, to modify the core form of justice within the U.S. from the celebrated English Common Law foundation of “innocent until proven guilty” to the ominous, criminal, and treasonous “guilty without the right to prove innocence!”. While many nations, including our own have practiced ‘guilty without a right to prove innocence’, we are not aware of any, including Nazi Germany, Stalin’s Russia or Mao’s China who ever went as far as to put such an outrageous law in writing.
The basic modus operandi of criminals in government is to file a barrage of false charges against an individual. Often they will throw the person into jail before proving guilt, effectively eliminating the persons ability to defend themselves. From jail they know it is impossible to launch an effective defense, jailors will literally go as far as refusing to give a prisoner a pen an paper or to file a pleading. The next step is the Bail scam. By setting high bail, jailers force prisoners to go to Bail Bond’s men who put up the bail money for typically a ten percent of the bail’s fee which the prisoner looses regardless. The bail money goes straight into the Sheriff’s pocket!. No interest is paid while the Sheriff sits on this ransom money. By forcing the accused to fork out thousands of dollars to be released on bail, the persons ability to afford to pay for defense is further diminished.
The Department of Justice 2006 report added the following statistics:
- The 56,428 new inmates -- including both convicts and those awaiting trial -- added to the system over the 12-month period account for a 2.6 percent rise in the U.S. prison and jail population
- The population in federal prisons rose nearly 3 percent, to 184,484 inmates, in the 12-month period;
- In the past 10 years, the nation's prison and jail population has risen by more than 600,000;
- The increase of 33,539 jail inmates over the 12-month period was the largest increase since 1997;
- At mid-year 2005, nearly 60 percent of offenders in local jails were racial or ethnic minorities, a statistic that has not changed in the past decade;
- At mid-year 2005, nearly 4.7 percent of black men, nearly 2 percent of Hispanic men, and 0.7 percent of white men nationwide were in a prison or jail.
- At mid-year 2005, jail facilities were operating at 95-percent capacity;
- Female inmates represent about 13 percent of the jail population, a 2.5 percent increase over the past decade;
- During the 12-month period, just a few hundred more inmates (33,539) than beds (33,398) were added to local jails.
According to the Institute on Women and Criminal Justice, women's prison population has grown 757 percent from 1977 through 2005.
According to the Women's Prison Association each year 5,000-10,000 women enter prison already pregnant.
According to the Department of Justice, 70% of the women in prison or under correctional supervision are mothers, 1.3 million children are affected. According to Oregon's Correctional Department, a child with an incarcerated parent is 500% to 600% more likely than other children to spend time in prison at some point in their lives.
Do not for the least part believe that all these people in U.S. jails, prisons and on parole are guilty of any crime. The great majority have committed no crime. A crime in the U.S. requires three mandatory elements to be present, MENS REA (willful intent); actus reus (act or crime) and CORPUS DELICTI (body of the crime, the actual damage) see LAW. As many as 90% of people prosecuted and punished by the U.S. Criminal Injustice System have committed no damage, in fact all three elements to the crime are missing. Judges, Police and Prosecutors are incarcerating these people for their own personal profit. The Prison industry in the U.S. is one of the fastest growing industries in the Nation. To turn these statistics around, Judges, Cops and Prosecutors who are not following the law need to be put behind bars.
Are the residents of the U.S. worse behaved than other countries? Absolutely not, to the contrary U.S. residents are generally far friendlier and less aggressive than those found in most other countries. Why the outrageous numbers? Clearly the government has a plan which looks awfully similar to those of Hitler & Stalin. In fact the same groups who funded both Hitler and Stalin own and control our Federal Reserve Bank and our government (Two must read books: Eustace Mullins' "Secrets of the Federal Reserve" & Antony C. Sutton's "America's Secret Establishment: An Introduction to the Order of Skull & Bones")
|Despite the astronomically absurd situation in California and in the
U.S. with more people in Jail, Prison and on Probation in this nation
than all the other countries in the world combined! Californian Governor's comprehensive "prison reform proposal" proposed $10.6 billion in bond financing and $0.3 billion from the General
Fund to expand California’s prison and jail capacity by a total of an
additional 78,000 beds!
California's 174,000 prison population (excluding jail population) currently lives in facilities designed for 100,000. 16,238 beds in state correctional facilities are to be added 45,000 beds in local jail and $1 billion is to be set aside for 10,000 "medical and mental health" beds.
The Governators $10.6 billion was not approved, $7.4 billion was approved to build 40,000 more prison beds and 13,000 more jail beds.
California's expenditure on incarcerating it's citizens now exceeds its expenditure on educating it's people.
The U.S. is now worse than Stalin's era.
